dream可用作及物動詞,接同源賓語(dream a good dream)或接賓語從句;用於否定句表“做夢也沒想到”或“從未想到”。

eg①When I was young I dreamed of becoming a driver.

指代上文的單數可數名詞(同類異物),表泛指。

Ones指代上文的複數名詞。

it指代前面提到過的名詞。(同類同物),表特指。

that代替上文中出現的名詞,它表示與前面同類的東西,即要代替可數名詞,也可代替不可數名詞,常要求有後置定語,一般不指人,表特指。

those用來代替可數名詞,表示特指。有時the ones和those可互換,要求有後置定語。

So what?是,又怎麼樣?

What about…? 怎麼樣(辦)?

eg. ①What if they should be thieves?如果他們是賊的話怎麼辦?

②What if she finds out that you have lost her book?

倘使她發現你弄丟了她的書,怎麼辦?

③What if we fail/failed/should fail?萬一我們失敗了,怎麼辦?

④What if a storm should come up?暴風雨要是來了怎麼辦?
