中國目前約有4億六千萬的菸民，這是一個多麼觸目驚心的數字呀！吸菸有害健康，是一個十分肯定的結論。教師在教學過程中要積極滲透這一觀點，方法要巧秒，使學生都能接受這一觀點，並真正做到不吸
【拋磚引玉】
教師在授課前可設定如下的問題，並讓學生暢所欲言：
1. 你經常聆聽你心跳的聲音，感受脈搏的跳動嗎？
2. 你是否曾有過因生命的存在而激動不已的瞬間？
3. 有什麼理由可以讓你放棄對生命的擁有？
在引起學生的共鳴之後，可進一步加以啟發：科學早已證明，吸一隻香菸至少使人少活5分鐘，你是否真的甘願讓無比珍貴的、有限的生命在噴雲吐霧中煙消灰散？
通過這樣的導課，既可以吸引學生對本單元學習的興趣，又能讓他們接受一次正面的教誨，一舉兩得，從而實現教學目的。
本單元能力目標：
① 對話（Lesson 5）
a. 朗讀：語音語調準確，情感適度；
b. 歸納：歸納出用英語進行請求、給予和拒絕的方法；

a. 理解課文大意，能回答有關問題。（Wb. P79 Excise 1; P80 Excise 1 ）
b. 歸納大意，能複述課文。
c. 將課文改寫成100詞左右的短文；
d. 討論吸菸的危害性。
