There be句型的主謂一致

當be後面的名詞是可數名詞單數或不可數名詞時，謂語用單數is(was)；當be後面的名詞是可數名詞複數時，謂語用複數are(were)。如：

There is a river at the foot of the hill.（山腳下有條小河。）

There are two watermelons under the desk.（桌子下有兩個西瓜。）

如果be後面是多個名詞並列，be應與靠近它的'名詞的數保持一致。如：

There is a river and many trees at the foot of the hill.（山腳下有一條小河和許多樹。）

There is a basketball and two watermelons under the desk.（桌子下有一個籃球、兩個西瓜。）
