assist的用法

1、assist是正式用語,它的原意是“與…站在一起”,現代英語中主要作“幫助,促進”解,指幫助者處於次要或從屬的地位。

2、assist用作及物動詞時其後可跟簡單賓語或以動詞不定式充當補足語的複合賓語;

(1)assist用作及物動詞：

I have too much work and no one to assist me

我工作太多,又沒人協助我。

A team of nurses assisted the doctor in performing the operation.

一組護士協助醫生施行手術。

(2)assist也可用作不及物動詞：

I assisted in doing his homework.

我幫助他做功課。

All her friends assist at the wedding ceremony.

她的朋友們都參加了婚禮。

3、assist用作名詞，表示幫助、協助。

The victims of earthquake need assist asap.

那些地震災民需要立即援助。
